Robert Evans is an independent scholar who specializes in the history of photography. He completed his PhD in Cultural Mediations (Visual Culture) at Carleton University in 2011. His research interests include nineteenth-century visual culture and landscape art, especially in the context of the ascendance of capitalism, the city, and modernity. Robert's recent work focusses on nostalgic and traumatic urban imagery.
Robert also works in the exhibition design industry, providing interpretive services and content management for Origin Studios, Ottawa, Ontario.
